Top Qualities of a Beautiful Personality

The physical attractiveness stereotype is the tendency to assume that physical attractiveness means someone has a great personality. When you think of someone considered beautiful, you may immediately think of their beautiful physical appearance, social status, or professional success.

While these are great qualities to have, someone’s attitude and actions may actually be what makes them beautiful to us.  Attractive individuals have a certain personality that draws us to them, inspires us, and makes us admire them.

Regardless of your personality type, there are simple things you can do to become a child of God who obeys His word and has true value. These Top Qualities of a Beautiful personality will guide you to bring out the best version of yourself.

As you develop these traits, your own thoughts, standards, patterns, and actions will be transformed. New doors and opportunities will open, and new things will happen in your life. You’ll find yourself in a better place where you’re wiser, more fulfilled, content, and with a purpose in life. Let’s dive in!

1. Loving

The most important commandment we’ve been given by the Lord Jesus Christ is to love God, love others, and love ourselves

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

Mark 12:30-31 NIV

Loving others means having a genuine interest in the needs of others, taking care of them and their needs, sacrificing for others, and praying for them. This makes you a really nice person.

Jesus is our best example of love and when we follow His lead, we develop beautiful personalities as His disciples. Timothy is also highlighted as someone who cared and loved others in the Bible. Let’s aspire to be like these amazing people.

“I have no one else like Timothy, who genuinely cares about your welfare.”

Philippians 2:20 NLT

2. Gratitude

It’s easy to complain about the state of the world and what we don’t have. Having a positive outlook in life is one of the rarest major personality traits you’ll find in people. Attractive people are grateful for what they have even if they don’t have everything they need. They understand God’s timing, trust Him, and are content.

In difficult situations, optimistic people are a breath of fresh air because they choose to focus on what’s good about a situation. It takes faith to keep your mind on the positive things that God is doing in us and all around us.

Jesus Christ is a great example of someone who had a positive attitude even in the face of a storm (Matthew 8:23-27). When you trust Him, you develop a beautiful personality that will inspire others around you.

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

Philippians 2:20 NLT

3. Genuine and Authentic

Being genuine means you’re not fake but your true self shines through in all interactions with others. We live in a world where people are willing to be anything or do anything for likes and followers on social media. Some people will do anything to just fit in.

No one is perfect except God himself. When you have an open heart about your strengths and weakness and you can receive feedback gracefully, your good personality will be a blessing.

There’s no need to be someone you’re not. God created you wonderfully in His image and you are a work in progress and “a beautiful mess”.  That’s why Jesus Christ died for you on the cross. To set you free from people pleasing and following this world and its standards.

Being authentic helps you develop meaningful connections with those around you and they will admire you for being real.

“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”

Psalm 139:14 ESV

4.Focusing on inner beauty

“Your adornment must not be merely the external—braiding the hair, wearing gold jewelry, or putting on apparel; but it should be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.”

1 Peter 3:3-4 NASB

This is such an eye-opening scripture. It can be manipulated and twisted but God meant it for our benefit and guidance.

The longstanding question among Christians is always this…does physical beauty even matter. The truth is outer beauty is important and it matters to the Lord. When you read the Bible many women such as Rachel, Sarah, Bathsheba, and Esther are described as beautiful.

It’s important do our best in all we do which can include dressing well, doing your make-up if you like, and taking care of your body by eating well and exercising. However, we are encouraged not to place all our efforts, time, and resources into physical attractiveness alone.

The focus, priority, and emphasis are to spend more time building a relationship with the Lord so that you become beautiful on the inside. This is what’s precious in the eyes of God.

Inner beauty makes you a strong woman in the Lord and an inspiration to your children and those around you. You develop an awesome personality that will sustain you through good and tough times.

5. Kindness

Kindness is one of the fruit of the spirit mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23. Kind people do good things to others by being considerate, friendly, caring, and helpful. It’s one of the ways that we show the world that we are children of God.

Being kind makes you a truly beautiful person inside and out. Attractive women are compassionate, empathetic, support others and put others’ needs above their own, and are sensitive to the feelings of others.

“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”

Ephesians 4:32 ESV

6. A joyful heart

“Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, take pleasure in Him]; again I will say, rejoice!”

Philippians 4:4 AMP

“Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.”

Romans 12:12 NLT

“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”

Proverbs 17:22 ESV

Beautiful people are full of joy even in tough times. Their circumstances don’t determine their joy but their identity in Christ and what He has done for them makes them glad. In the face of adversity, it’s important to hold onto the promises of God, have hope, be patient, and even have a good sense of humor. It will take you far in life.

7. Respect for others

The Bible encourages us to honor and respect all people including specifically those in authority and positions of power, our parents, and if you’re married your husband.

Being respectful means being aware and sensitive to the different perspectives of others, and acknowledging their rights and individuality.

Just because you know more or have more doesn’t make you a better person than the next. In fact, mistreating them is a reflection of your own personality which is not attractive or admirable.

A respectful person listens to others’ views, ideas, or opinions even if they are younger than you, have different beliefs than yours, or have a lower position than you.

Respect means you are aware and sensitive to individual differences yet treat everyone the same regardless of their social status, background, or physical traits. It’s one of the most attractive qualities you can have.

“Show respect for all people [treat them honorably], love the brotherhood [of believers], fear God, honor the king.”

1 Peter 2:17 AMP

“However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.”

Ephesians 5:33 ESV

“Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise: If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.”

Ephesians 6:1-3 NLT

8. Generosity

Our God is a giver. He gives us blessings, unconditional love, favor, and grace and the greatest gift He gave us is Jesus Christ. He teaches us to be generous and rewards us when we obey Him.

In the digital world, we often become generous so others can see us. But the Bible encourages us to give out of love for

God and others and do it without expecting anything in return. At the end of the day, it’s about God’s will and glory and the reward and blessing ultimately comes from Him.

“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

2 Corinthians 9:7 ESV

9. Integrity

Integrity is doing what we say we will do. It makes others trust you and depend on you. Lying and being manipulative to get our way in life can make us successful in this life but there will be consequences. God will bless those who have integrity and they will get a good reward for their obedience.

“The righteous who walks in his integrity— blessed are his children after him!”

Proverbs 20:7 ESV

“The Lord detests lying lips,

but he delights in people who are trustworthy.”

Proverbs 12:22 NIV

10. A good listener

Most people are longing to be seen and heard. When someone is having a difficult time at home, work, or school, all they are looking for at the time is a listening ear. Most times people listen with an answer already in mind and on their tongue and they miss out on what the person is really saying.

Listening without interruptions, and paying attention to what someone is saying verbally and non-verbally is one of the most rare character traits you’ll find in people.

Even as a leader, mom, or wife being able to listen to others and their different viewpoints whether you agree with them or not brings out your beautiful personality.

“Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.”

James 1:19 NLT
