Are you looking for Prayers to Make Positive Soul Ties and Break Negative Ones?
A soul tie is a deep connection and a strong bond shared between two people. The connection can be formed through shared experiences, emotions, or actions.
When people are connected by soul ties their bond is usually long-lasting, and intense and they feel so intertwined with each other.
The power of soul ties shows in that the connected people bring out strong emotions within each other. These may be positive or negative emotions.
Soul ties can be healthy making them positive soul ties or they can be negative and toxic.
A negative soul tie can have negative effects on your relationship with God and on your faith in Him. These are powerful Prayers to make Positive Soul Ties and Break Negative Ones.
If your connection with the person is good, God can establish and bless it. If it’s not, you need help to break free from it.

Different types of Soul Ties
A soul tie can occur in past relationships, romantic relationships, deep friendships, or with a mentor or teacher. There are 5 different types of soul ties that we need to consider.
1. Sexual Soul Ties
This is the most well-known type of soul tie. Being sexually intimate with someone results not only in a physical connection but in an emotional, mental, and spiritual connection as well. That’s why it can be difficult to forget someone you were intimate with.
If your relationship was not pleasing according to God’s word, you need spiritual warfare prayers to break free from that person’s hold on your life.
2. Emotional Soul Ties
These form when two people develop deep emotional bonds. These usually occur between friends and grow into an attachment.
You may lean on the person emotionally and whenever something happens you need to tell them. You are likely to feel that they complete you and you can’t make a decision without consulting them.
This soul tie comes with high expectations which can lead to disappointment when there’s over-dependency on someone.
3. Spiritual Soul Ties
This kind of connection involves a deep connection to one another’s spiritual beliefs.
There are a few examples in the Bible of this type of spiritual connection. It’s a good thing to have this kind of relationship as it results in sharing of knowledge and mentorship and brings joy and contentment to the people connected.
4. Protective Soul Ties
When someone saves or rescues someone in need, it can result in a protective soul tie.
Because the one who was helped feels grateful and indebted to the rescuer, a soul tie can form over time. However, this kind of soul tie can turn into abuse when the rescuer takes advantage of the person they helped and their show of gratitude.
5. Permanent Soul Ties
When people willingly form a partnership in business or marriage, this can result in a permanent soul tie.
Their lives become intertwined and there’s a strong interdependence between them. It usually comes with strong emotional bonds.
What is a positive soul tie?
Good soul ties are positive soul ties. They develop when two people have a healthy and close relationship between them.
So how does this kind of bond affect you?
This relationship adds value to your life, energizes you, brings out the best in you, and overall enhances your life. There is unconditional love and acceptance in this healthy relationship.
You feel understood and seen. You feel a strong sense of safety, security, and comfort when the other person is around.
You experience this kind of bond with someone because your soul already knows them and you connect on a deep level and most of the time a spiritual level.
Positive Soul Ties in the Bible
We find a few healthy relationships in the Bible that show what positive soul ties can look like. We can use these examples to build and establish good soul ties.
“Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here; the Lord has sent me to Bethel.”
But Elisha said, “As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.”
2 Kings 2:2 NIV
Elisha was Elijah’s disciple. He followed Elijah wherever he went and learned everything from this mighty prophet of God. They had a strong spiritual soul tie.
“After David had finished talking with Saul, he met Jonathan, the king’s son. There was an immediate bond between them, for Jonathan loved David. From that day on Saul kept David with him and wouldn’t let him return home. And Jonathan made a solemn pact with David, because he loved him as he loved himself.”
1 Samuel 18:1-3 NLT
David and Jonathan had a strong emotional and spiritual connection from the moment they met. They were familiar and comfortable with each other and it was like they had always been around each other for a long time.
“Wherever you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord punish me severely if I allow anything but death to separate us!”
Ruth 1:17 NLT
This is one of the most popular Bible verses for weddings and marriages.
Ruth said these words to her mother-in-law Naomi after their husbands had died and Naomi was returning to her homeland. They had a strong emotional and spiritual connection.
This positive soul tie was an emotional soul tie too and led to Naomi helping Ruth know God, taking her back to her homeland, and Ruth was blessed with a new husband and became part of Jesus’ lineage.
Prayers for Positive Soul Ties
As we pray for positive soul ties, we will also look at some key Bible verses that encourage us to build these healthy connections.
“Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.”
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NIV
This scripture encourages us not to go through life alone. There is a benefit in having close relationships with others who will help us go further in life and do more than we would have managed alone.
The good thing is you find companionship and comfort in these emotional bonds. There is always someone to help you and be there for you.
Dear heavenly father, I’m inspired to have positive soul ties in my life. I pray for your grace to bring good relationships based on strong spiritual connections.
Your word says that two are better than one and you encourage community in the kingdom of God.
I don’t want to go through life alone. I’d like companions who can l can be accountable, who give me sound advice and guidance, and with who l can grow together as a Christian.
Help me to be a good friend who is helpful, comforting, and a safe space for others. Help me to also find relationships where the other person is kind to me, encourages, energizes, and inspires me. In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray. Amen.
“bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.”
Colossians 3:13 ESV
The Bible encourages us to forgive others and extend grace in the same way that God has forgiven us. We never deserved grace yet God freely gives it to us.
Good soul ties develop as we understand that people are not perfect, they will disappoint us but we love them unconditionally all the same.
Dear Jesus thank you for forgiving me my sins. I am humbled by your grace and love for me. Help me to also forgive others and extend grace to them. I appreciate the amazing loved ones in my life.
May forgiveness be one of the key foundations of our relationship. Help us to have a relationship that you are pleased with and that serves a purpose in your kingdom. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
What is a Negative Soul Tie?
Negative soul ties are bad relationships and harmful soul ties.
There are different ways to see bad soul ties. They bring negative energy into your life, drain you, overwhelm you.
How does a negative soul tie affect you?
It could be an abusive relationship and you want to leave but stay even if you’re unhappy. This harmful tie can make you lose yourself or feel lost in the relationship.
You can even sacrifice a lot just to be with the person like neglecting your friends and loved ones. You may stop doing what you love or engaging in things that interest you.
If the person constantly brings you into a state of sadness, hopelessness, confinement, and depression, then it’s an ungodly soul tie.
Negative soul ties lead you to go against your values or desires. When you find yourself going against your Christian beliefs in a relationship and disobeying Biblical principles, this becomes an ungodly relationship.
These harmful soul ties often lead to unhealthy connections leading to jealousy, possessiveness, and anger which is disguised as love.
It can be toxic and you even fear expressing your true feelings because the other person is manipulative and twists your words.
The person may become restless when they are not around you. This person makes you feel bad if you don’t seek their approval for everything and make you feel scared even if they’re not around.
They are controlling and they almost become like a god in your life.
But the Bible says there is only one true God that we should serve.
(for you shall worship no other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God),
Exodus 34:14 ESV
“You must not worship any of the gods of neighboring nations, for the Lord your God, who lives among you, is a jealous God. His anger will flare up against you, and he will wipe you from the face of the earth.
Deuteronomy 6:14-15 NLT
No matter how negative or ungodly the connection has been, it’s still difficult to cut those unholy ties. Letting go remains to be a challenging and painful experience.
Ungodly Soul ties in the Bible
We can also learn from the examples of negative soul ties in the Bible. We can see how harmful negative soul ties can be and how they have the great possibility to negatively change the trajectory of your life.
King Saul and David
King Saul became jealous of David, and he sought to kill David multiple times. We see this from 1 Samuel 19 and continues through multiple chapters in the Bible.
This was a negative soul tie driven by hatred and anger. David wanted to honor his king and learn from him (as he had been anointed the next king himself) yet Saul brought him sadness, and depression, and drained him.
Samson and Delilah
In Judges 16 we see that Samson was a mighty judge in Israel who had a sexual soul tie with Delilah. It became dangerous as he ended up revealing information that God had told him never to reveal to anyone.
Delilah was manipulative, and deceitful and made Samson lose who he was and lose interest in the God he loved and worshipped. This was a harmful soul tie as it resulted in the downfall and captivity of the mighty Samson.
